UGironaFounded in 1991, the University of Girona is one of the seven public Universities of Catalonia and currently has 15,000 students and 1,200 academic staff. The Department of Economics (UdG) belongs to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration which combines teaching and research at the international level.[1] The Department offers instruction in several degree programmes at the Bachelor and Master levels.

The academic staff at the Department of Economics is engaged in applied and theoretical research focused on statistical methods, economics of education, health economics, econometrics, environmental and labour economics, poverty and income distribution, among other fields. The members of the Department are currently engaged in several research projects, mainly funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Catalan Government. Publications by members of the Department appear in English, Spanish, and Catalan in national and international peer-reviewed journals. In recent years, the Department has organised several national and international academic workshops and conferences.

 Main tasks in Negotiate

UdG will be jointly responsible for WP6 together with UNIBAS and co-lead WP5 with ISSK. Moreover, the Department of Economics will organise and host one of the six project meetings and will be involved in all other WPs except WP7.
